Yep, this is a fantasy RPG through and through.īing is clearly a talented auteur with a unique vision for his game, and we think he has a great career ahead of him after Lost Soul Aside. Playing as a warrior named Kazer, you’ll need to embark on a quest to rid the world of monsters or something to that effect, and you’ll be armed with a living sword made from a crystallised dragon. Set in a retro-futuristic world ravaged by war, the game sees the arrival of monsters threatening the fragile peace between two nations. The plot of Lost Soul Aside sounds like typical fantasy RPG weirdness. The Unreal Engine 4 was clearly put to good use, because from what we’ve seen so far, the spectacular visuals merge perfectly with the fast and fluid combat. Regarding gameplay, it seems like Lost Soul Aside will basically be a cross between Final Fantasy and Devil May Cry, with a healthy mix of brutal fast-paced melee combat and RPG elements sprinkled in. Sony must have seen something special in this project, and it’s not difficult to see why. Judging from the AAA quality visuals, it’s hard to believe that Yang actually started working on this game by himself before Sony took an interest in the project and recruited a team of experienced developers to help him complete it as part of their China Hero Project. We hope Lost Soul Aside does indeed arrive this year, because it looks fantastic. This news comes from a Chinese interview which was translated by analyst Daniel Ahmad, in which Bing stated that he wants to have the game finished and available to the public before the end of 2020. Updates on the game's progress will be posted on the official "Lost Soul Aside" Facebook page as well as on Bing's official Twitter account.Although it does not yet have a firm release date, director Yang Bing has confirmed that Lost Soul Aside, which he is developing with Ultizero Games, is aiming to be released on PS4 sometime this year. No official announcement has been made regarding the plot of the final product, but the trailer and the gameplay video should give gaming enthusiasts a peek into the fantastical adventures of Kazer, the main character, as he gets caught in a war between "humans and unknown monsters." Bing also promised that he will try to finish the game by 2018. The game will also be featuring multi-weapons and more significant changes in both the settings and the characters to give the game its own unique look separate from the work that inspired it. In a more recent Tweet, Bing informed his followers that the upcoming game will be released as a time exclusive title for PlayStation 4, which means that it will only be available for the said platform for a limited amount of time. 22, Bing announced on his official Twitter account that he will be receiving support from Sony, and that he will be working with other game developers in creating a more original game out of the initial prototype for "Lost Soul Aside." Within only a week of the trailer's release, various companies have already reached out to Bing to express their interest in funding the game. Yang Bing, the Korean game developer responsible for the game, first introduced "Lost Soul Aside" on the Unreal Engine forums with a trailer and a set of gameplay images that instantly awed its audience.īing described the on-going project as a fantasy-action game that aimed to combine elements from popular titles "Final Fantasy" and "Ninja Gaiden." But what really caught the online community's attention is the fact that Bing has been working on the project all on his own for two years after seeing the trailer for "Final Fantasy XV." What began as a one-man project that inspired positive feedback from the online community is now about to become its own game. Sony, one of the leading names in video game publication, has reportedly picked up the project and is now backing all efforts towards its eventual completion. "Lost Soul Aside" used to be just an independent video game project inspired by "Final Fantasy XV." Now it looks like the much anticipated title is about to carve its own successful path in the gaming world. Although initially inspired by the trailer for "Final Fantasy XV", Yang Bing's "Lost Soul Aside" will offer a different storyline and gameplay once it releases in 2018.
